The ideal Outreach Intern candidate is a strong, persuasive writer with an interest in understanding the convergence of online public relations and content marketing. Applicants must be current college freshmen, sophomores or juniors with the ability to work 15+ hours a week. This is not just a summer internship, but instead, a year-round opportunity.

Daily activities include pitching stories to a range of publications and actively managing relationships with editors, writers and bloggers. This internship is paid.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Build relationships with online trade publications and pitch our clients’ content
  • Identify link-building opportunities and execute strategies in an effective and timely manner
  • Monitor and document outreach efforts
  • Identify opportunities to make your work more impactful or processes more efficient
  • On occasion, assist with one-off agency tasks (somebody has to water the plants!)


  • Ability to understand our clients' industrial, B2B businesses
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong, persuasive writing skills
  • A desire to learn more about online marketing in the B2B industrial space
  • Must be current college freshmen, sophomore or junior looking for a place to call home until graduation
  • Interest in business and/or marketing with a strong, relevant academic background
  • Availability to work from our St. Louis, MO office for 15+ hours per week

What will help you stand out

  • Previous experience pitching to publications OR previous experience working for a publication or blog
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics including SEO, PPC, email outreach, etc.
  • Examples of work entailing strategic and analytical thinking from a previous internship or educational project
